  4.     It was not the story of Nazi horrors or the one about the
  5. slaughter in Beirut that I found so disturbing. It was the article
  6. about the father who drove his car into the river to get rid of his
  7. "burdens" (NATION, Aug. 28). I can't shake the image of four
  8. children going under and perhaps screaming to their father for
  9. help, not knowing that he was the one who betrayed to the utmost
  10. their love and trust.
